If you are a fan of the Star Wars movies then you will remember the beautiful buildings and planets that made the film such a hit, what many don\u2019t realize is that four of the Star Wars movies were partially filmed in Tunisia, taking advantage of the natural beauty and magnificent historical buildings which are on display for you to explore today.<\/p>\n

Tataouine in the movie was Tunisia from Luke Skywalkers home to Obi-Wan Kenobi\u2019s house, Toshi Station to the Star Wars Canyon.<\/p>\n

Djerba<\/a> is a beautiful island off Tunisia and was used for two of the movies locations, Ben\u2019s hermitage is actually used as fishermans storage, but you will remember it as Obi-Wan Kanobi\u2019s house in Star Wars IV and Toshi Station is actually a temple called Sidi Jemour.<\/p>\n

Tozeur is a beautiful Tunisian oasis with palm trees and natural beauty surrounded by hot sand, it is also known as it was used at the Lars Homestead in the Star Wars movies, you may remember it from Shmi Skywalkers funeral.<\/p>\n

Head to Mors Espa where the props are still in place, visit the gates, the pod racing arena and Watto\u2019s Shop. This area is like walking through a complete film set.<\/p>\n

Oung Jmel or camel head rock as it\u2019s better know is the site used when Darth Maul arrives in Tataouine and Tataouine is the Ksar Ouled Soltane where the grain storage was used as the slave quarters in Star Wars I, the area around this beautiful location was also used for most of the movies.<\/p>\n

Sidi Bouhel was used nine times and also known as Star Wars Canyon. This area isn\u2019t also famous for the Star Wars movies; it was also used in The English Patient and Raiders of the Lost Ark.<\/p>\n

Matmata<\/a> is the firm favorite when it comes to Star Wars, this beautiful Berber village is where the houses are built underground blending in with the natural beauty that surrounds the area, but it\u2019s also the home of Luke Skywalker. His home is now a hotel, but there are plenty of props still in place for you to explore when visiting Tunisia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
