Tunisia is a wonderful country, rich in culture, steeped in history and brimming with natural beauty. From the spectacular coastal areas to the soaring mountains, all the way to the golden dunes of the Sahara Desert, Tunisia<\/a> has it all.<\/p>\n

There are a number of national parks and nature reserves in Tunisia, each one protecting the native vegetation and wild life. Each one is worth exploring, a chance to see the natural side of this magnificent country.<\/p>\n

Sidi Toui National Park<\/strong>
\nThis national park can be found in southern Tunisia. Set in a mountainous area, filled with salt flats and dry rivers, this national park which was founded in 1993 offers a selection of native vegetation, birds and oryx. <\/p>\n

Ichkeul National Park<\/strong>
\nLocated in Bizerte, this national park has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The national park covers the lake, wetlands and abundance of birdlife that migrate here during the winter months. You can find over four hundred different bird species in the park.

\nNational Nature Park El Feija<\/strong>
\nThis nature reserve was developed to protect the Barbary deer that lived in the area. Today there is a number of wildlife moved into the area including wild cats, jackals and an abundance of reptiles.<\/p>\n

Bou Hedma National Park<\/strong>
\nSet in southern Tunisia, this park is one of the most visited national parks in the country. Set up in 1980, the park started a reintroduction program, today there are a large number of wild animals from wild cats and oryx to jackals and bird life.<\/p>\n

Jbil Nature Park<\/strong>
\nThis nature park is located in the Sahara Desert. It was developed to protect the antelope, red foxes and reptiles that live in the area. You can see them all as you make your way through the park area.<\/p>\n

Boukornine National Park<\/strong>
\nThis park can be found in northern Tunisia, not too far from the capital city of Tunis. Here you can explore a number of plant life, including spectacular orchids and see a number of wild animals in their natural habitat.<\/p>\n
