Gafsa is the capital of the southwest of Tunisia and is known for its historical oasis and phosphate mining industry. Gafsa, originally called Capsa in Latin, was once inhabited by\u00a0a Mesolithic civilization. Many tourists visit Gafsa to dive into its ancient history or simply to pass through to reach the Saharan towns of Douz or Tozeur in Southern Tunisia. Whatever may be your reason to visit Gafsa, you will be surprised to know that there are not many hotel accommodations in Gafsa. The best hotel in Gafsa is likely Hotel Jugurtha Palace<\/strong><\/a>, but if you are looking to stay somewhere that is more unique and different from the standard hotel, then we recommend staying at the Dar Seddik Guesthouse in Gafsa.<\/p>\n

The Rooms<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Most rooms in the guesthouse are Quadruple rooms with two double beds. The only difference is that some rooms offer a garden view, while other rooms offer a view of the outdoor pool.<\/p>\n

Each room is equipped with air conditioning, a seating area, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a kitchen, a dining area, a private bathroom with a hairdryer, a bidet and a shower.<\/p>\n

The Breakfast<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The guesthouse is booked in Bed and Breakfast only. Breakfast is taken in the morning at a shared lounge area. When you check in to the guesthouse, you can let the receptionist know what time you want to take your breakfast. They are very accommodating and can prepare an early breakfast if you have an early start or a late breakfast if you want to stay in.<\/p>\n

The breakfast is a spread of an assortment of pastries, hard-boiled eggs, scrambled egg rolls, bread, juices and coffee.<\/p>\n

Lunch and dinners are not offered at the guesthouse. You will need to take a 15-minutes walk or a 5-minute drive to the town centre to look for restaurants. The guesthouse is tucked away into a palm grove, so you will need to walk a few minutes to a busier road to catch a taxi.<\/p>\n

What To Do In Gafsa?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Gafsa Archaeological Museum showcases a collection of flint and lithic tools excavated at prehistoric sites in the area which links to the Capsian culture.<\/p>\n

There are two ancient outdoor Roman pools located near the Gafsa Archaeological Museum. These pools are filled with water in the summertime, and it becomes a popular summer activity to dive into and swim in these historic Roman pools.<\/p>\n
